Our Daily Itinerary
-
Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our driver and shuttled to the breathtaking Riaces Inca Retreat Center, nestled in the heart of the Sacred Valley. After an approximately 75-minute drive through stunning landscapes, you’ll arrive at Riaces and be welcomed for check-in. Take time to relax, acclimate to the altitude, and explore the serene grounds, set at the foot of the majestic mountain Apu Pitusiray. In the evening, we’ll gather for a delightful welcome dinner, accompanied by the enchanting melodies of the Sikuris, a traditional musical style shared across Peru, Chile, and Argentina. Afterward, you’ll be introduced to an ancient Andean tradition—a sacred practice that will inspire your heart and accompany you well beyond this retreat.
-
We’ll begin our day with a serene morning Sadhana, a Sanskrit term for daily spiritual practice. For this session, we will explore Kundalini Yoga, awakening energy and setting the tone for the day. Afterward, enjoy a nourishing breakfast lovingly prepared by the chefs at Riaces Inca. Following breakfast, we’ll gather for a Despacho Ceremony, a sacred tradition of the Q’ero people. This ceremony involves creating an offering to Pachamama (Mother Earth) to express gratitude and honor the Sacred Apus (mountains) and ancestors of this land. It is a heartfelt request for blessings and permission to share in the magic of this sacred space, led by a revered member of the Q’ero nation. After the ceremony, enjoy a delicious lunch and take some time to relax before immersing yourself in a profound Temazcal sweat lodge ceremony on the retreat grounds. This ritual of purification and renewal will be guided by the Aedo Pantigozo Family, a local family deeply dedicated to the Wachuma and Temazcal traditions. In the evening, we’ll gather for a delightful dinner on the property. Afterward, we’ll share our first Mambeadero, a traditional practice of working with Mambe. Together, we’ll engage in a reflective talk on the theme of divine order within and around us, exploring love, unity, and profound inner clarity as we close the day with intention and peace.
-
Our day begins with Morning Sadhana and meditation, grounding our energy and setting an intentional tone. Afterward, enjoy a delicious breakfast before attending a ceremonial preparation class. This special session will guide you through the sacred practices and intentions for the evening’s Tipi Ceremony. Following the class, a light lunch will be served to nourish your body in preparation for the journey ahead.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Pisac ruins, a remarkable Inka complex of agricultural terraces perched high on the mountain of Intihuatana, offering breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley. After exploring the ruins, there will be time to wander through the charming town of Pisac, known for its vibrant artisan markets and rich cultural heritage.
From Pisac, we’ll journey to Apitusan, a small community nestled in the foothills of the majestic Apu Pachatusan, where we will participate in our first ceremony with Grandfather Wachuma.
The Tipi Ceremony, rooted in the traditions of the Lakota and Mexico, invites us to sit in communion with the great spirit of Wachuma. Taking place overnight, from evening to sunrise, the ceremony weaves together the elements of fire and tobacco, sacred music, silence, prayers, and teachings from the cardinal directions. Anchored by Grandfather Fire and Tobacco, this profound experience serves as a gateway to deep connection, healing, and spiritual insight.

Private integration sessions will also be available for those who desire one-on-one support in navigating their inner journey.
In the afternoon, we’ll come together for a transformative Sound Healing and Cacao Ceremony, led by the extraordinary Gonzalo Basavilbaso. Gonzalo is a gifted musician, sound therapist, and creator of harmonic musical instruments. Over the past decade, he has dedicated his work to exploring the healing potential of sound through scientific, traditional, and therapeutic approaches.
Using instruments like gongs, Tibetan and quartz bowls, didgeridoos, handpans, harmoniums, and voice, Gonzalo creates immersive soundscapes that guide participants into deep states of meditation and relaxation. His sessions offer profound physical, mental, and emotional benefits. A craftsman as well as a sound researcher, Gonzalo builds many of the instruments he uses, tailoring them to specific therapeutic needs and expanding our understanding of sound through the fascinating science of cymatics.
Following this beautiful ceremony, we’ll gather for a communal dinner to share a nourishing meal and enjoy each other’s company. This is a special time to connect more deeply with the group, reflect on the day, and celebrate the sense of unity and love that has grown throughout the retreat. The hot springs serve as the community’s traditional bathing place, as there are no showers at the lodging. This experience invites us to embrace the simplicity and sacredness of Andean life.
In the evening, we’ll share a heartfelt dinner together and prepare for the next day’s ceremony. As part of this preparation, we’ll create a Despacho Ceremony, offering prayers and intentions to the Apu (mountain spirit) to ask permission for our entry into the sacred mountain.
This night is a rare and beautiful chance to immerse yourself in the rhythms and traditions of the Quechua people, honoring the land and its ancient wisdom.

Today we step into the heart of the Andes for our second Wachuma ceremony, connecting deeply with Grandfather Wachuma in the sacred mountains where his spirit resides. This will be a day of magic, reverence, and communion with nature as we hike on the majestic Ausangate Mountain.
Ausangate, standing at 6,384 meters (20,945 feet), is one of the most revered peaks in the Andes and holds great significance in the spiritual traditions of the Quechua people. Known as an Apu, or mountain spirit, Ausangate is believed to be a protector and provider, watching over the surrounding communities. Its glacial waters feed the rivers and valleys below, sustaining life and serving as a source of spiritual renewal. For centuries, the mountain has been a site of pilgrimage and ceremony, particularly during the Qoyllur Rit'i Festival, where thousands gather to honor its sacred energy.
Accompanied by musicians and horses to carry our belongings, we’ll hike through the breathtaking landscape of Ausangate, absorbing its awe-inspiring beauty and powerful energy. Our journey will lead us to the Blue Lake, a shimmering, pristine body of water nestled in the heart of this sacred mountain. Here, we’ll gather for a ceremony filled with song, dance, and the warmth of a sacred fire, honoring the sacred waters and deepening our connection with Pachamama (Mother Earth). Together, we’ll open our hearts to the wonder and mystery of life, finding unity and joy in the breathtaking embrace of the Andes.
After the ceremony, we’ll return to the lodge to rest and enjoy some light snacks. We’ll then visit the soothing hot springs, where the warmth of the waters will help us relax and integrate the day’s experiences.
